Greek inspired burgers with a Feta Tzatziki sauce, crisp and crunchy veggies, in a whole wheat pita.
In a food processor or blender, combine the yogurt, feta, 1 garlic clove, dill, cumin and half the lemon juice, and salt to taste. Process until smooth. Transfer to a bowl and stir in the minced cucumber. Set aside.
To make the hamburger patties, start with a large mixing bowl. Combine the meat, remaining lemon juice, salt, cumin, oregano, onion powder and pepper. Grate the remaining cloves of garlic over the mixture. Work the ingredients together into a large loaf using your hands. Divide the meat into 8 equals servings, and form into patties.
Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Brown the burgers on both sides, cooking them through about 5 minutes each side. Let them rest a few minutes before serving. Serve in a pita, topped with sliced tomato, cucumber and red onion with a good drizzle of tzatziki.
